1. Why Alto Adige & the Dolomites?
Alto Adige-Südtirol is a small region, nestled in the Alps, in the northernmost part of Italy, just across from Austria and Switzerland. For centuries part of the Austrian-Hungarian empire, today it is one of Italy’s hidden gems.
Thanks to its northern position(46°N), this wine region benefits from both the Alpine and Mediterranean climates. The sunny days encourage ripeness, while cool nights preserve acidity. Protected by the great fortress of sedimentary rock, the Dolomites shield the vineyards from harsh weather.
This stunning area, with its unique history, traditions and terroir will be our backdrop for the week. During this tour we will explore Alto-Adige’s jewels, taste its wines and sample the extraordinary local culinary preparations, all with an eye to one of a kind experiences.
2. Why us?
Our story
We’re two friends, one Italian and one American, who met in the Northern Italian town of Trento in the late 90’s, at the University of Trento, back before social media and smart phones were even a thing. The friendship endured, and through marriage, kids, graduate degrees, moves and career changes, we’d manage to steal away for a visit along the way to catch up in person. What always stayed constant: our love for traveling to new destinations, languages, food, wine and good friends!
Our name tells our story.
Lei means she in Italian — a clear reflection of who we are — and it also recalls the Hawaiian lei: a symbol of love, respect, celebration, and friendship. These values are the foundation of every journey we design.
